There is an inbuilt diagnostic check in Apple itself. All you have to do is long-press the side and volume buttons while the phone is being charged after switching it off.

Click on start diagnostics and choose a Wi-Fi network to get started with the process, if you are connected to the official Apple network the tests run, or else you will have to go to an Apple store.
