How to make a Minecraft server?

1. Latest version of JAVA:

Minecraft requires Java to play, so you’ll need to install it before you can go on playing. Follow the instructions below to get started with your free copy of Minecraft. You will need to update/install Java and then install Minecraft. Java 8 Update 111 is required to play Minecraft on any computer. This update came out in June 2017, and we recommend that you already have it installed.

2. Minecraft server:

To get the server files, visit the Forums and log in. From the main page, go to Downloads, then Minecraft Server. Download the installer file for your OS. The installer is pretty straightforward. Once you install the server files, please edit the following to add your desired server name (case sensitive) in your favorite text editor. A Minecraft server allows you to play on a Minecraft world created by someone else who has set up a particular server where people can play together on that world.

3. Updated version:

The Minecraft launcher and servers will be automatically updated throughout the day, so you’ll need to use the new launcher when it is available. Please be aware that this update is huge and may take a long time, depending on your internet connection. When you install a new version of Minecraft, you’ll see the Download Complete notification in the lower right corner of your launcher. To view downloaded files, select Play from the launcher menu, navigate More Actions, and choose Manage Worlds. The Minecraft world folder is located at C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves.

4. Agreeing to EULA:

Starting a Minecraft server requires modifying the game’s files (unless you’re using the Minecraft Realms service). You must obtain this license to operate a public server. Change your license agreement in the eula.txt file to “true” (yes, upper case) and then launch the server from the same directory. Mojang accepts a thumbs-up as an indication that you get the EULA.

5. Launch the server:

To launch the server from within the program, click ‘Launch server’ in the bottom right-hand corner of the main UI window or press F6, then choose a port and click ‘start.’ There is no option to save your server without exiting. After your server is started to work, you can connect with the players.

6. Port forwarding:

Port Forwarding allows you to get to your computer from the internet. However, because port forwarding is most useful for enterprise networks, it may not be enabled on home routers by default. The exact process of port forwarding will be different for everyone because it depends on the router you have. Unfortunately, this is a fairly advanced topic, and there’s no way we can give any specific instructions here that would apply to all routers.

When you set up port forwarding on your router, you’re telling the router to listen for incoming requests on the port. If someone accesses your computer on a different port than the one you forwarded, then they won’t be able to get to it.
